McCarthy Baptist Church Public Worship Guidelines

McCarthy Baptist Church Public Worship Guidelines

Updated 9/15/2020

Per the Mayor's Order on September 15, 2020, "all indoor public places must require those present to wear a mask. If a 6-foot distance can be maintained...then a mask is not required." Therefore, beginning Sunday, September 20, we are asking you to wear a mask while inside the church buildings. You are welcome, but not required, to remove your mask while participating in the worship service and other church activities (Sunday School, Fellowship Groups, Committee Meetings, etc.) as we practice physical distancing in those settings.

We'll be taping off pews to facilitate this effort. We appreciate your discretion and courtesy. The Mayor's Order is in effect through October 17, 2020. We will seek to communicate any changes as they arise.

  • Sunday Worship Service will take place at 10:30AM in the Sanctuary.
  • Sunday School, Nursery, Youth Group, and Adult Wednesday Night Bible Studies are taking place as normal. TeamKID will not meet until further notice.
  • The church will open at 8:00AM. You can enter through either the top or bottom entrances.
  • Children's Church will be open for children ages 4-2nd grade. If you have children ages 4-2nd grade who would like to attend Children's Church, please step out in the lobby with them when they are dismissed from worship so you can register them.
  • We will continue to offer the worship service online on our Facebook page.

For your safety, we ask you to abide by the following guidelines:

  • If you are not feeling well, we strongly urge you to stay home for your safety and the well-being of others.
  • If you feel uncertain or feel uncomfortable about resuming public worship, we encourage you to remain home until a later date.
  • Let us show love and respect to one another as we each act in accordance with our conscience in this unique time (Colossians 3:12-14).
  • As always, we value the family. The family is a gift of God. We encourage your whole family to attend, including small children.
  • NO physical contact is advised (Hugs, handshakes, elbow bumps, and so forth).
  • Keep Social Distancing as you enter and as you leave the buildings.
  • As you enter the sanctuary, a church representative will be available to help you find a seat.
  • Families living under the same roof can sit together but are encouraged to maintain 6 feet from other families/individuals.
  • We will not be collecting the offering in the traditional way during the service, but we encourage you to give in the yellow collection box that will be set up in the lobby. You can also give online.

*These plans and guidelines are subject to change. We will communicate any changes as soon as possible. Stay up to date at or on our Facebook page.
