Reformation Hymn

Hello all,

It's been awhile since I have done a new song of the month article. Fyi, here is the current songs of the month we have sang through 2020:

  1. The Lord's Prayer
  2. The Lion and the Lamb
  3. Jesus Is Better
  4. Christ Our Hope in Life and Death
  5. Cling to Christ
  6. Psalm 46 (Lord of Hosts)
  7. Here Is Love
  8. All to Us

I hope as we have introduced "or re-introduced" these songs that they have blessed you in your worship of the one true God! Sunday November 1st will be the 503rd anniversary of when Martin Luther, the great Reformer, nailed his 95 theses on the church door in Wittenberg, forever changing the landscape of Protestant Christianity.

This song was written on the 500th anniversary in 2017 by Sovereign Grace. As you sing through the song, you should recognize the elements of the 5 Solas.

  1. Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)
  2. Sola Fide (Faith Alone)
  3. Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)
  4. Solus Christus (Christ Alone)
  5. Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone)

Each verse contains two of the five solas, and the chorus focuses on the fifth and triumphant sola of Glory to God Alone.

I hope as we sing this together, you will understand the importance of why this doctrine is necessary for the church today and what we preach.
